Turkish Airlines and Vietnam Airlines sign an MoU of Cooperation.

Turkish Airlines, the national flag airline of Turkey, as well as Vietnam Airlines, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK to enhance the bilateral relationship.

The aviation industry is making an effort to heal the aftermath of the pandemic; the collaboration of two airlines won’t just create new possibilities to increase the competitiveness of both companies and expand the business but also encourage social, cultural, and economic exchanges between Turkey, Vietnam, Europe, and the Middle East region.

In line with this, Turkish Airlines and Vietnam Airlines will strengthen their cooperation in the transportation of passengers and cargo and examine the possibility of an agreement to codeshare passengers on flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and Istanbul. With this collaboration, passengers will have more options for new destinations within the network of both airlines.

Additionally, Turkish Airlines and Vietnam Airlines will work together more closely in the area of transporting cargo through the establishment of a codeshare partnership that is scheduled to go into effect in the year 2023. In the near future, the two airlines will look at further partnerships to enhance the relationship in this field.

Turkish Airlines Chief Investment and Technology Officer Levent Konukcu commented on the importance of collaboration in the region with Vietnam Airlines and said, “Recovering from the devastation that the caused the pandemic to the aviation industry, We were all aware of the importance of collaboration. We are committed to the expansion of our partnership and cooperation with Vietnam Airlines, both in passenger as well as cargo. Our shared desire and expectations are to strengthen our relations across a variety of fields and offer greater opportunities for our passengers. We at Turkish Airlines, together with this goal, are pleased to have signed this MoU that will ultimately contribute to strengthening relations between our two countries.”

Le Hong Ha, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vietnam Airlines, said: “We are extremely pleased to continue and strengthen our cooperation and cooperation with Turkish Airlines. The partnership between these flag carriers is expected to bring huge advantages to our passengers and improve connectivity to aviation, and encourage cultural and economic exchanges between Vietnam, Turkey, Europe, and the Middle East region. This is in addition to Vietnam Airlines’ effort to enhance global cooperation, broaden the network of routes, boost the economy following the pandemic, and take advantage of new opportunities for development.”
